CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN

As many of my long time readers know Halloween is my favorite time of year – but this year I have been so busy I feel like I haven’t really soaked it in… So we are changing that! We are going to FULL BLOWN HALLOWEEN MODE! We have a week left to enjoy all we can – lets do this!

To start my celebration of the season, I decorated my entry way to scare up some classy & spooky decor. I like to pick things that fit into my existing home decor so my entry way is focused on silvers and golds. Plus trying to look like some awesome witches live here with my potion bottle.

You should all know that I am doing the Tone It Up 31 Day Challenge. The thing I love about Karena and Katrina is they understand that I want to eat all the pumpkin things. They had a great Pumpkin Spice Donut recipe so I had to whip some up!

On Saturday my mom and I went to Disneyland to soak in all the Halloween spirit. We rode Ghost Galaxy (aka Space Mountain Halloween Style) and Nightmare Before Christmas’s Haunted Mansion takeover! We had lunch at the new Carthay Lounge’s Autumn menu – which was totally amazing.

For the rest of the week I will be watching my favorite Halloween movies and getting ready for Stan Lee’s Comic Con on Sunday!

TRAINING + TONE IT UP TUESDAYS

Welcome to another training Tuesday! Last weeks update was on instagram -> you can check it out here.

This was a great week for me! I really stuck with my nutrition and work out plan, while getting some good mileage in for my half marathon training.

Last Saturday – Pink Yoga
Bloomingdales hosted a Pink Yoga class at my local Bloomies! For $10 (all of which went to charity) we got to take an awesome Saturday morning yoga class and got some goodies. I love pop up fitness classes where you can change up your routine and experience something really fresh and usually from a great teacher.

Tuesday – Tuck Tuesday
Another Tuesday at Pure Barre – really loving this class!

Wednesday
Got my 5 Daily Moves in followed by some additional abs and leg work! Good at home workout!

Thursday
I felt super nauseous so no work out for me…

Friday – Barre before Bar
I was able to make the 5:30pm Pure Barre class (which is the last of the day) to start my weekend right. Tons of booty work! I was glad to get a good workout in before celebrating my friends birthday and Saturday’s football watch party.

Sunday Runday at the Surf City 10
I will do a full recap on this race this week, but I had a great race shaving 3 minutes off my current fastest time… still chasing my 2011 PR but so close. I got a 10K so 6.2 miles in for my half training.

Monday
Never miss a Monday had me back at the 8pm Pure Barre class! Only my calves were sore from my race so it wasn’t too bad.

IT’S JUST A BUNCH OF HOCUS POCUS

Ok I adore Halloween, remember #Basic&Proud! And naturally my favorite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus (with Halloweentown coming in close second.)
What? You love Hocus Pocus too? Well pour yourself a glass of wine and pop in your copy… seriously you can find the drinking game here.

It seems like every year more and more people remember their love of this film. Social media has exploded with love for this cult classic and well I cannot think of a better way to celebrate October than with the Sanderson Sisters!

Training + Tone It Up Tuesday

Welcome to another Training Tuesday and the first Tone It Up Tuesday! If I did my math correctly we are 100 days from the 10K of the Star Wars Half Marathon Light Side Race!! Plus I have officially started the Tone It Up 31 Day Challenge! All very exciting stuff her people.

Saturday – Day 1 of the TIU 31 Day Challenge!
Did PiYo Sweat for a 35 min work out plus the 31 reps of the daily moves. These daily moves are free and you can access them here.

Sunday – Sunday Runday
3.1 Miles out on the road. Per my training plan it was supposed to be 5 miles but the TIU challenge had you do a 5k. With the TIU 31 plan I am actually working out more and will hit higher mileage fast – so I figured it would all shake out in the end. Also my 31 reps. Surprisingly these were 3 rough miles. I told myself just make it to 2, then to 2.5 and finally convinced myself to the 3.1! Damn you never know when tough runs will sneak up on you…

Monday – Tuck  You Monday (hehe)
Monday evening I took my first Pure Barre class from the Groupon I bought (pack of 10). I have done Cardio Barre and Pop Physic before but really loved going to Pure Barre and felt like I got an amazing workout in!

Tuesday – Training Tuesday
30 minutes on the road as another training run!

So far the Tone It Up 31 Day challenge has been going good! My meal prep and food plan has been on point. I cannot wait until a few more weeks to start sharing some results with you!
